Durability
Road conditions play a large role in the expected life of your car magnets. When laminated they can last 2 years or longer outdoors. Un-laminated car magnets generally last 1 year before outdoor elements begin to degrade their appearance and ability to remain on your vehicle. It is recommended that you remove the magnets often and clean the surface of your vehicle as well as both sides of your magnets. When not in use, car magnets should be store flat in a cool, dry place.

TURNAROUND TIMES
Best Use Cases
Car magnets are often used for advertising and also to differentiate a car from pedestrian cars when entering a corporate campus or work place. It is a very affordable option for advertising your business or branding your single vehicle or even a whole fleet of vehicles. Car magnets should be removed daily, or at least weekly. If the clear coat of your paint is worn, the magnet can damage the paint of your car with continuous use. Also, magnets must be stored completely flat. If placed in a curved wheel well or the like, they can curl, which makes them susceptible to flying off the car if wind catches an area that is not firmly against the metal. Curled magnets can be straightened again by being placed on a flat area and covered with relatively heavy weight, evenly distributed over the surface.

What is Image Quality how to I make my images print as best as possible.
Answers

  • Image quality is part art, part science. Generally, low resolution website pictures look terrible on signs. Web pages need to load quickly, so people visiting a page don't leave the organization's website. If high definition pictures are on the page, the page will load slowly. Thus, nearly every internet picture you find on a storefront or news page is low definition. It might look good at 2' x 2', but will look terrible at 12' tall. Before uploading a picture, zoom in. Is it grainy? Does the edge look crisp? If not sure, email us the image, let us know how big you want it, and we will let you know if it will look good enough to be persuasive. Sometimes, for a small fee, we can use commercial software to improve the quality. Files that are 100 kilobytes (kb) or less, even up to 1000 kb, are often too low quality to use on all but the smallest signs or decals.

Google Images has the ability to display only high definition pictures- play with the settings. However, that does not mean you are legally allowed to use the image. Make sure before you use it. Often, people are honored to have someone use their picture, and say yes, if you ask nicely.

Modern camera phones take excellent images if you choose the highest quality setting. Likewise, tablets can take great pictures, usable for signage products.

  • Available Colors for printing depends upon the printing method you choose. Silk Screen signs and decals have standard colors that do not incur any additional fees. If you desire a specific silk screen color, called a PMS color, we advise you call in to discuss your job. We have color matching experts. There will be an additional charge, to hand mix ink colors, for this service. This is the only way to guarantee Brand Guidelines and Specific colors are achieved. If the product you choose is digitally printed, we can likewise print with calibrated equipment to achieve specific CMYK values. Again, a phone call is recommended.

  • At this time, we do not offer exact Pantone (PMS) color matching for our digitally printed signs. We can however offer PMS approximation. This means we will do our best to get as close as possible to your requested color(s). If you are ordering screen printed signs or shirts, we can certainly provide Pantone PMS color matching. Additional fees may apply. Call for details.

  • We have seen many small businesses have great success with vehicle magnets. It is a cost effective way to promote your business in your area and get your name out there. While it works well for small businesses, we recommend a more in-depth approach to vehicle advertising which can include a more permanent solution like vehicle wraps and graphics.

  • Since we are based in Tampa, Florida, we know from experience that the sun’s UV rays can take their toll on printed ink. Even with direct sun exposure, our magnets can easily last for 1-2 years, even longer if not in direct sunlight. Adding lamination can double that number. If your magnets are placed inside, it will last for many years.

  • Yes, our car magnets are made to be left outdoors all the time. That said, they should be removed under the following conditions: High winds, heavy rain, etc. as they are susceptible to falling off. They should also be removed temporarily for cleaning of the vehicle and the magnets every 1-2 weeks.

  • Yes, it is recommended that you keep the surface where your magnets are adhered between -15 F and 160 F. If the temperature drops below that range, the magnet can become brittle and susceptible to cracking. If the temperature gets above that range, it is at risk for melting and can cause damage to the surface paint.

  • There is not a set recommended frequency to clean your magnets, but we recommend at least wiping down both sides of the magnets every few weeks. This helps ensure you don’t have any dirt building up between the magnet and your vehicle which could scratch your paint.

  • To get the most out of your vehicle magnet, it should be laid flat and stored in a cool, dry place when not in use. Do not store your magnets stacked with the magnetic sides facing each other. This will degrade the effectiveness of the magnetic material over time.

  • No, your vehicle magnet will only adhere to magnetic “ferrous” metals. Some examples of non-magnetic surfaces include newer Ford F-150s, most enclosed trailers and some large box trucks. These vehicles have aluminum paneling and the magnets will not adhere.

  • Your magnet will adhere to any metallic flat surface that accepts magnets. Your magnet will not adhere to aluminum or any other non-metallic surface like plastic, fiberglass or carbon fiber. Do not attempt to adhere your magnet over any curves for bulges as it will likely fall off when the vehicle is in motion.
