What are Feather Flags?


Our feather flags, also known as advertising flags, banner flags, even flutter flags, are printed on high quality 4oz polyester material using the traditional dye-sublimation process to provide a bright, vivid flag print that can last for years in the right conditions. Single sided flags are translucent and the back side shows a mirrored view of the front. When you select a double sided flag, it is actually made by sewing 3 layers of fabric together. It consists of two printed layers as well as a blockout layer in between them to ensure no light passes through. WIth 2-sided feather flags, you will see the message clearly regardless of your direction of travel. Whether you are looking to advertise inside or outside your business/organization, a custom feather flag is an excellent option. They are available in a variety of sizes to fit your specific needs. Choose from a metal ground stake for outdoor use in soft ground or a cross base with an optional weighted bag for extra support. Feather flags are an ideal solution for any outdoor event or festival. The collapsible pole kit makes transporting the flag simple and setup is fast.

Feather Flag Options

Single Sided


A single sided flag is only printed on one side of the polyester fabric. The ink then bleeds through the polyester fabric so that it is displayed on the other side in a mirrored reverse image to the printed side. The 2nd side is less vibrant.

Double Sided


For viewing both sides of a flag, 2-sided printing on your feather flag is the way to go. A 2 side print on a feather flag allows you to capture the eyeballs, thus ad views, for traffic heading in both directions. In an example of a street with 30,000 cars a day traveling by your advertising flag, about half, 15,000, have a chance to read your message on a 1-sided flag. All 30,000 have a chance with a 2-sided flag. In 6 months, that’s more than 2.5 million additional potential views. On 2-sided advertising flags, the opaque layer between the 2 prints makes the image more vibrant, great for giving brands a high quality look.

Indoor Use


Indoor feather flags are a comprehensive advertising tool for numerous applications in events, expositions, conferences, and directing people. We advise utilizing a square base or cross base if you want to use them indoors. With their versatility, feather flags can be used for almost any purpose.

Outdoor Use


Feather flags are successful as outdoor signs due to their waving action as well as unlimited colors and designs. We recommend using either a ground stake or a base with a water bag for outdoor placement. With the exception of severe weather, and/or high winds, your feather flags can be used outdoors year round.

Ground Spike


Our ground spike is an anti-rust spike, and is made of steel with a Zinc coated surface. This ground spike is very sturdy, the perfect choice to showcase your flag if soft ground is available. It is durable and easy to use. Simply stick the ground spike into the grass or dirt (or pound with a hammer/mallet with firm ground) and attach the flag and pole.

Cross Base


The cross base is made out of durable chromed steel. It is easy to assemble, disassemble, and transport. It is excellent to be used both indoor and outdoor with or without an optional water bag.

Cross Base with Water Bag


When added to a cross base, the water bag is an ideal and convenient way to add additional weight to the flag. It is perfect for both indoor and outdoor use. Easy to transport and set-up, simply fill the bag with water and it will be ready to use in minutes.

Assembling your flag


Feather flags are an eye-catching and cost-effective way to bring attention to your business. To assemble your flag, first unfold the high-quality polyester flag graphic and lay it out flat. Then, assemble the aluminum and fiberglass pole set and insert it into the sleeve on the edge of the flag. The pole set should fit snugly, and you can use the included ties to secure it further. Then, place your feather flag on one of the three bases offered: ground spike, cross base, or cross base with water bag.

Caring for your Feather Flag



Caring for your high quality feather flag is easy, as long as you properly store the flag when not in use. These flags are highly durable and can withstand extreme weather conditions with proper care and maintenance. Though the flagpole and flag banner are both durable, we strongly recommend storing it indoors during heavy wind storms or inclement weather to protect it from being damaged. Indoor storage will also help extend the lifespan of the flag. If you plan on storing the flag for an extended period of time, keep it in a protective case off of the ground and out of direct sunlight to avoid accidental damage caused by prolonged exposure to sun or moisture.

You can clean the flag with a damp cloth and some water to help remove any dirt or other build up that has accumulated over time. For a deeper clean, these flags are also machine washable on the delicates cycle using cold water. If you do decide to machine wash your flag, make sure to only air dry after washing and do not place it in a tumble dryer.

  • The sleeve is a 2" wide pocket that the pole slides through. The sleeve is a heavy stretch fabric that takes the brunt of the force of the wind, making your flag last longer. It is sewn to the edge of the polyester fabric printed flag, double stitched for real strength.

  • We offer a ground spike, cross base or a cross base with an added water bag.

    Ground stake: This is a rotating, zinc covered steel spike. Hammer the spike into the ground until secure. To keep the feather flag from tipping over, hammer the spike past loose soil.

    Cross base: This is made out of durable chromed steel. It is easy to assemble, disassemble and to transport. It is best for indoor use. It can be used outdoors on flat hard surfaces. Outdoor use requires a weight or water bag for stability.

    Cross base with water bag: When there is no soft ground, a cross base with a water bag allows you to get flags out to attract business. Place on level ground/pavement outdoors. Be more carefuly in customer access areas with cross bases, particularly in high wind situations. In this case, use additional weight or limit flag use to feather flags 14' tall or less.

  • Who doesn't love lists?

    1) Polyester that is truly 135 gsm/4 oz. The thicker fabric is the key to longevity.

    2) Epson UltraChrome Dye Sublimation inks. To be the best, use the best ink for true, vibrant color.

    3) Printing at 518,400 dots of ink per square inch, 720 x 720 dpi. Cheap flag makers often claim this quality, but often crank out too many flags to maintain this slow, steady printing for maximum print quality.

    4) Pay Seamster/Seamstress' quarterly bonuses and base raises on quality satisfaction scores.

    5) Source poles carefully, measure and report discrepancies to the supplier. Stay on top of this.

    6) Have a second quality check from an employee who was not involved in fabricating the flags, but is fully trained on color, sewing and all necessary components.

    If your current supplier of advertising flags does not follow these/our procedures, you cannot be sure you will get what you paid for, the absolute best, longest lasting advertising flag kit for your money.

  • Due to the transparent nature of our polyester fabric, on the non-printed side, the ink bleeds through so that it is displayed on the back side as a mirrored or reverse image to the printed side. The non-printed side is much less vibrant as well.

  • Each flag's poles are designed to support a single size or advertising flag. A large flag pole set is thicker and will not accommodate a small or medium size feather flag. If you buy multiple sizes of advertising flags, be certain you match up the correct poles with the corresponding flag.

  • Polyester flags can be machine washed. It is highly recommended that they be washed on a gentle, cold water cycle to keep the colors vibrant. Do not bleach, and air dry/hang flags for maximum longevity. You invested good money and some time in your flags, so take them down in heavy wind (over 30 mph sustained) and wash them every 3 months for the longest life. Never iron a feather flag.

You can design the front and back however you choose. Different images do not incur an extra fee. If you need our help creating the image for the second side, we can do so in some cases for no additional charge depending on the type of file you supply and your artwork design.
