Yard Letters

It’s a huge day. A day that signifies the end of an academic era. A day of celebration. Your child is graduating. Put yourself in their shoes on this momentous day. You put on that cap and gown, getting ready to head to the graduation ceremony. You’ll walk up on a stage in front of your class, family, and friends. You’ll be handed your well-earned diploma. You’ll have an ear-to-ear smile. You’ll throw that cap in the air along with your peers. It’s the culmination of hard work and unrelenting effort. You have made it. You have graduated. On the way home, you’ll wonder what’s in store for the rest of the day. Then, as you pull up to your house, you see it. It’s a big, bold message. Standing proudly in the lawn, you have received a CONGRATS GRAD yard letter greeting.

Putting yourself in the shoes of that graduate, it has now sunk in that he/she deserves something unique, something that shouts out to all who see it. Graduating any level of school is a really big deal.

Yard Letter Kit:

Here’s what you get when you order your CONGRATS GRAD yard letters from us:

  • Corrugated letters that spell out “congrats grad”
  • A one-piece coro that reads, “2021”
  • A one-piece coro graduation cap
  • 28 titanium steel wire stakes that hold up your materials

All the materials come in a handy, lightweight white box with a convenient carrying handle. We even include a how-to-set-up sheet for you.

Let’s get back to the letters for just a minute. They are, as mentioned, made out of 1/6th inch-wide corrugated plastic that can handle precipitation with ease. Rain will have zero impact on your letters. They are 18 inches tall. We chose that height for two key reasons. It is the perfect height for maximizing viewability. Secondly, if corrugated plastic letters or signs are taller than 18 inches, they are susceptible to being bent by wind or even blown over by it. We tell you this because we want to do it right for you. We have sold in excess of 15 million coro yard signs, so we have the experience of knowing what works best.

Yard Letter Ownership:

So, what makes us different? When you order from us, your yard letters are yours, period. You paid for them, so why shouldn’t they be yours? We don’t rent them; we sell them—for just $69. Our prices are lower than our competitors, and you keep the product. It’s that simple. Also worth noting, we have these graduation yard letters in house, and they are ready to ship to you on the same day you order (if you do so before 4pm ET). Yes, we are different, and we’re proud of it.

Customization and Design:

With regard to customizing your yard letter greeting, we can do it all for you. Want to add the grad’s name? Would you like to add some stars, a diploma, or other kinds of flair? We have you covered. We can make anything you want. All you have to do is call us at (800) 614-8040 and we’ll create the perfect design you want.

As for design, it’s an important element for the effectiveness of your message. We’ll circle back to this in a minute. First, we’ve focused this article on graduation yard letters, but we can create letters for any event, such as:

  • Birthdays
  • Weddings
  • Anniversaries
  • Baby showers
  • Bachelor parties
  • Business advertising

That’s just a sampling of what we can do. If you can think of it, we can do it.

Back to design now. Generally speaking, the bigger the signage, the better. But with yard letters, the 18-inch height we mentioned earlier in the article is the maximum to go with.

That leads us to font and color when it comes to your yard letters and different events. These play a significant role in how successful your message is delivered. Unless you’re promoting an upscale event like a wedding, you’ll want to stick with an easy-to-read, recognizable font. Why? They’re commonplace, and we’re all used to seeing them on our computers, our cell phones, and the like.

Pop quiz—which of these fonts is the easiest for you to read?

We never want to assume, but we’re guessing you chose C. It’s in Calibri font. Most computers default to that, so it’s familiar to you. Other common fonts are Helvetica, Times New Roman, and Arial. We advise you to strongly consider a discernible font.

With color, keep it simple and use no more than a couple colors. Your yard letters will get troublesome for the eye if you introduce something like five different colors. Here’s an example of a fictitious restaurant sign we made up. Note how irritating it is to look at. It’s completely ineffective.

Contrast with colors is key when you choose to use more than one color. If the borders of your letters are light, the interior of the letters should be dark, and vice versa.

In Closing:

There you have it. That’s the world of custom yard letters. If you still have questions or are ready to place an order, give us a ring. We, at Good Guys Signs, are ready to help make your graduate’s day special or to assist you with signage for that special event in your future.
