Magnet thickness is pretty standard in the industry. Typically, it runs .030 of an inch. Tried and tested, this thickness is durable enough to withstand outdoor conditions, but thin enough to cut with a pair of household scissors. Caring for Your Magnetic Sign:
When you buy a vehicle magnet, be it one or 100, you’ll want to ensure its marriage to the metal surface of your car is a smooth one. Prior to slapping the magnet on, clean the exterior of your vehicle where the car magnet will live. Additionally, wipe down the back of the magnetic surface with a damp cloth. If you feel like doing a touch more pampering to your newly purchased PR display, feel free to use a mix of mild detergent and water when wiping it down.
Your magnet should be positioned on a flat surface of your car. Do not place it on rounded corners, curves, bumps, wheel wells, or moldings. If it’s put on a curved wheel well or the like, it can curl, which makes it susceptible to flying off the car. Also, be aware– car washes kill.
You bought that car magnet to make your company shine as you cruise around town advertising your biz. It would make sense that you’d want to keep your vehicle looking clean as well. That’s logical. Remember to remove your magnet before any kind of car wash or power washing experience. Both have a propensity to permanently damage your magnetic car sign.
Preserve the health and longevity of your custom printed magnet by removing it frequently. It’s not critical to do it every day, but weekly, at the very least. Removing and cleaning both magnet and vehicle surface regularly will go a long way in maximizing the purchase of your mobile advertising decal.
