COVID-19 has really put a strain on everything we are normally accustomed to. Families who normally travel to visit relatives have put that on hold. It all sounds grim, and in fact, it is. But there is something you can do to help feel closer to loved ones. The answer is a lifesize cardboard cutout. And we have them.

Social Distancing:

We’ve become quite aware of the term “social distancing.” All one has to do is look at the floor in every place that is open for business. Signs are abound telling us to stay 6 feet apart. With the practice of social distancing, people simply aren’t travelling from Florida to Oregon for example, to celebrate a family member’s 75th birthday. They’re not going on planes or trains to celebrate that milestone birthday. A cardboard cut out can be a wonderful substitute for those missing friends and family.

What a Cardboard Cutout Is and How it’s Made:

Take any two-dimensional image. Anything. Seriously. Send us a high-resolution jpeg file, and we’ll produce a carboard cutout for you within two days. Now is the perfect time to take a picture of you so the cutout can be in the living room for your mom’s birthday.

We have two types of materials that make up our cutouts: corrugated plastic and cardboard. We utilize carboard as our standard level cardboard standup. There isn’t much to get into regarding this material. If you’ve ever moved, you’ve undoubtedly packed stuff in a cardboard box. Corrugated plastic is a material you might not be familiar with. Corrugated plastic, or Coroplast™, is a thin plastic (about 1/6th of an inch thick). We use this material for our premium cutouts. It’s stronger than cardboard, is not susceptible to moisture, and dirt can be easily wiped off. Its lifespan is much longer. Because of all those bonuses, it does cost a little more. But rest assured, our prices on both materials are much less than any of our competitors.

Pricing on our standard cutouts is as follows:

Desktop = $65

For a 4 foot tall = $79

For a 5 foot tall = $84

For a 6 foot tall = $80

Up to 7 feet tall = $109

Up to 8 feet tall = $139

We typically produce ours at a maximum height of 6 feet and a width of 30 inches. We can go bigger and wider, but additional charges would apply. The process is that you would send us an image, then our skilled professional designers will work with the image, then send it to our production department. That part of the staff prints the image, then uses a high-tech machine called a CNC router where they cut out said image. It’s really quite a cool process from start to finish. Check out this short video to see how we produce a cardboard cutout.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vML9d17wY86G2BCkdYsgeBNDymCo2Lv2/view

Cutouts to Cheer-Ups (Good Guys Signs Style):

During this difficult era that people are dealing with, we have actually affectionally renamed our cutouts as Cheer-Ups. We gave them that moniker because they truly do work, they truly do cheer people up. Take a lady named Jean Clement from Chicago. Something pretty darn unreal happened when we were making the cardboard cutout Cheer-Up for her. We wrote about the very star-aligning story on our blog page. This is well worth a read.

A Story That Has to Be Told

In Closing:

When this pandemic is in our rear-view mirror, we will likely go back to calling the product a cardboard cutout. Even still, we will continue to make them. They’re tremendous fun for parties, they’ve been used at sporting events this year, and again, they can be anything—a person, an animal, a cartoon character, and more. And during these trying times, they can absolutely put a smile on someone’s face.

Families who normally travel to visit relatives have put that on hold.
